Missing someone.
Currently, my friend's nick in msn was "I will remember you". Yes, I think I do miss people and places even and it has got me thinking.

Say, take for example, if I would to go away for an exchange programme for 6 months or even longer, I wonder how many people will miss me? I overheard a conversation of a friend that's travelling overseas for a certain period of time and he was quite critical about people saying they'll miss him. It's true isn't it? People need you to be there in the present to go through with them life. They want the here and now and if you're away for sometime, they'll automatically learn to live their lives they way it is. To adapt and change. It's human nature isn't it?

And who are those people that really misses you? Your close friends and family members. It is when you spend sufficient time and effort in getting to know them and walking them through sorrows and joy that you can really say you miss someone.

But then again, I believe that the purpose in each one's life is as such: that in some way you do make an impact on their lives. That you treated them the way you would to your good friends - with integrity, kindness and respect. Many relate the amount of people missing you as an indication of whose lives you've touched and yet it cannot be totally relied on. The way you respond and treat people in different circumstances is ultimately between you and God.

But yes, it's possible to miss and I sometimes do miss the company of different friends at times. It's just that as we get older, people do change, they have of different persues in lives. And I believe that different friends are placed at different points of your life for a reason. On a different note, I think that friends that walk with you for a long period of time like since childhood is rare and should be treasured :)

But you know what will last? The effect one has on a person's life. That you actually invested time and effort and perhaps impacted and changed them for the better. To conclude, invest time in the lives of others. It's rewarding :)

And yar I want to say, that to that brother in Christ, we'll all miss you :) Come back soon!
